Authorize the Purchase of Two Light Trucks for Public Works Consent Business 5• C. 3• SHAKOPEE TO: Mayor and City Council Mark McNeill, City Administrator FROM: Mike Hullander, Public Works Superintendent DATE: 03/19/2013 SUBJECT: Authorize the Purchase of Two Light Trucks for Public Works (C & E) Action Sought Move to approve the purchase of two light trucks from Midway Ford for the price of $39,327.84. The funds to be expended from the Capital Equipment Internal Service Fund. Background Staff is requesting to replace unit #125, a 2000 Chevy 3500 4x4 with plow for the Street Division and unit #161 a 2001 Ford F350 4x4 with plow for the Park Division. The trucks will be replaced with two new 2013 F150 Regular Cab with 8' box. These trucks will be used by the street and park supervisors and the vehicles they are replacing will be retained for use by winter and summer, seasonal, street and park staff. These purchases were allocated in the 2013 Capital Equipment Internal Service Budget and the funding for these purchases will be expended from that budget. Staff will be utilizing State Contract Pricing #54363. Recommendation Staff recommends the requested purchases. Budget Impact The funds were allocated in the 2013 Capital Equipment Internal Service Fund Budget. Relationship to Vision C. Maintain the City's strong financial health. E. Deliver effective and efficient public services by a staff of welltrained caring and professional employees. Requested Action Move to authorize the purchase of two light trucks from Midway Ford for the price of $39,327.84. The funding to be expended from the Capital Equipment Internal Service Fund.
