Action Sought
The Council is asked to authorize the hiring of Michelle Lindsay for the position of Human Resources Specialist.
Background
The City's 2013 operating budget includes funding for the addition of an HR Specialist. On January 8, Council
approved the job description for the position and authorized advertising for applicants. A total of 77 applications
were received and eight were interviewed.
Recommendation
The interview committee recommends hiring Michelle Lindsay for the position, at Step F, Grade 6 ($25.10 per
hour) of the 2013 Non -Union Pay Plan, contingent on successful completion of the required background check and
pre- employment physical and drug test.
Budget Impact
This is a newly created position, with funding for a full -year of wages and benefits included in the adopted
operating budget for the HR division.

This item relates to Goal E: Deliver effective and efficient public services by a staff of well- trained, caring and
professional employees.
Requested Action
