Action Sought
The Council is asked to appoint Council liaisons to various boards, commissions, and organizations for 2013.
Background
I propose to appoint the following people as liaisons or Council officers for 2013:
1. Acting Mayor — Pamela Schurman
2. Shakopee Public Utilities Commission Liaison — Steve Clay
3. I.S.D. 720 School Board — Jay Whiting
4. Shakopee Convention and Visitors Bureau — Jay Whiting
5. Shakopee Chamber Of Commerce Board of Directors — Jay Whiting
6. Metro Cities — Brad Tabke, with Mark McNeill (alternate)
7. Suburban Rate Authority — Mark McNeill & Brad Tabke
8. Interview Committee —Brad Tabke and Jay Whiting
9. Metropolitan Council — Brad Tabke, with Michael Leek (alternate)
10. Municipal Legislative Commission —Brad Tabke and Mark McNeill
11. SCALE — Jay Whiting & Mark McNeill
12. SCALE Joint Training Facility Board Representative — Jay Whiting, with Mark McNeill (alternate)

Recommendation
I recommend that the recommendations for Boards and Commissions be appointed for 2013.

This supports Goal D, "Maintain, improve, and create strong partnerships with other public and private sector
entities."
Requested Action
If the Council concurs, it should, by motion, adopt the recommendations to fill liaison appointments for various
boards and commissions with whom the City Council has a relationship.
