DISCUSSION Staff has met with the teen advisory board for recommendations regarding what types of amusement equipment to provide within the teen center facility. Some items have beenl obtained through purchase and will provide free usage (ping pong and foosball). Others would require a greater monetary investment and have been deemed more appropriate to acquire through contract with an amusement/vending company. I I Proposals I Staff contacted several amusement/vending companies and approached them with the proposed items that the teen board is requesting. Two companies were able to provide the equipment requested and have made the following proposals: ! Item Superior Vending Theisen Vending I ! The proposal specified that the new agreement would be for two years, with an option to renew for two additional years. RECOMMENDATION Based on the proposals, potential for maximum total revenue would be achieved by entering into new agreements with Theisen Vending Company. Staff and the teen advisory board support retaining ownership and 100 % of the proceeds from the existing pool table. The provided token changer system was also supported in order to cut down on staff having to handle money on a regular basis. The token meter verification helps both the vending company and teen center to build a trusting relationship when dealing with commissions. REQUESTED ACTION If Council concurs, move to authorize appropriate city officials to enter into a two-year agreement (with option to renew for two additional years) with Theisen Vending Company for amusement equipment within the teen center.
