Cox, City Clerk SUBJECT: Apportionment of Special Assessments for Dean Lakes 1 st Addition DATE: June 30, 2004 INTRODUCTION: City Council is asked to consider adopting the attached Resolution No. 6081, which apportions existing special assessments against newly created lots located within Dean Lakes 1 st Addition. BACKGROUND: Prior to the platting of Dean Lakes 15t Addition, there were existing special assessments against it for the construction ofCSAH 83, from 12th Avenue to 1870 feet south of the existing intersection of CSAH 16 and for CSAH 16, from 850 feetwestofCSAH 83 to 1500 feeteastofCSAH 83, Project No. 2001-4. Now that the parcel has been subdivided into smaller lots as a result of platting, it is necessary to apportion these assessments against each of the new lots. Resolution No. 6081 apportions the existing special assessments against the newly created lots within the Dean Lakes 15t Addition. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Offer Resolution No. 6081, A Resolution Apportioning Assessments Among New Parcels Created As A Result Of The Platting of Dean Lakes 1 st Addition, and move its adoption. I:Iapp-spec/memo RESOLUTIONNO. 6081 A RESOLUTION APPORTIONING ASSESSMENTS AMONG NEW PARCELS CREATED AS A RESULT OF THE PLATTING OF DEAN LAKES 1ST ADDITION WHEREAS, on November 6, 2002, Resolution No. 5803 adopted by the City Council levied assessments against properties benefited by CSAH 83, From 12th Avenue to 1870 Feet South of the Existing Intersection ofCSAH 16 and by CSAH 16, from 850 Feet West ofCSAH 83 to 1500 Feet East ofCSAH 83, Project No. 2001-4; and WHEREAS, on February 3, 2004, Resolution No, 6008 adopted by the City Council apportioned the installments remaining unpaid against the parcels created because of the platting of Registered Land Survey No. 184; and WHEREAS, Tract A of Registered Land SurveyNo. 184 has been subdivided into the plat of Dean Lakes 1 st Addition; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to apportion the installments remaining unpaid against Tract A of Registered Land Survey No. 184 because of the platting of Dean Lakes 1 st Addition. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKO PEE, M~ESOT A that the 2004 payable remaining balance of assessments (to parcel number 27-367001-0 for Project No, 2001-4) are hereby apportioned as outlined in Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all other parts of Resolution No. 5803 and No. 6008 shall continue in effect.
