Subject: Shakopee Fire Department monthly Business Meetings
Introduction
In 2004 budget Shakopee Fire Department discussed the ability to be paid for the
business meetings and was approved for the 2004 calendar year. The monthly meeting
usually last 1 to 1.5 hours per meeting. With the amount oftime the department spend on
all the other duties they feel that the meeting should be paid.
Impact on 2004 budget.
Average: 37 to 40 firefighters per meeting
Cost per meeting $400 . .
Cost per year $4,800
BUDGET IMPACT:
This item has. been budgeted for in the FY 04 budget. (per Gregg V oxland)
Recommendation
We recommend that City Council approve the fire department to get paid for monthly
business meeting retroactive Januaryl, 2004
