Board of Adjustment and Appeals
Regular Meeting Minutes
Date: Thursday, January 8, 2026
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: City Hall,485 Gorman Street, Shakopee, MN
1. Call to Order
Chair Sepulvado called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.
2. Roll Call
Members Present:
• Chair Sepulvado
• Commissioner Forsythe
• Commissioner Weiler
• Commissioner Sandhu
• Commissioner Ranua
• Commissioner Robbins
Members Absent:
• Commissioner Reding
Staff Present:
• Michael Kerski, Director of Planning and Development
3. Approval of Agenda
Motion by Commissioner Robbins, second by Commissioner Sandhu, to approve the agenda as
presented.
Vote: Motion carried unanimously(voice vote).
4. Recognition of Interested Citizens
No individuals came forward to speak.
5. Consent Agenda
5.a Approval of Board of Adjustment and Appeals Meeting Minutes
• November 6, 2025
• December 4, 2025
Motion by Commissioner Robbins, second by Commissioner Weiler, to approve the consent
agenda as presented.
Vote: Motion carried unanimously(voice vote).
6. General Business
6.a Public Hearing—Conditional Use Permit for Vehicle Repair
7480 County Highway 101 East—Marsh Auto Reconditioning
Motion by Commissioner Forsythe, second by Commissioner Ranua, to open the public
hearing.
Vote: Motion carried unanimously (voice vote).
Staff presented the request for a Conditional Use Permit to allow vehicle repair within the I-2
(Heavy Industry) zoning district. The proposed tenant will only be doing minor repair and
vehicle detailing. Has had another business and will start this one with just one employee,
himself. He will be doing some minor touch up painting but nothing that requires a booth,
Motion by Commissioner Robbins, second by Commissioner Ranua, to close the public
hearing.
Vote: Motion carried unanimously (voice vote).
Action:
Motion by Commissioner Forsythe, second by Commissioner Ranua, to adopt Resolution
PC2026-002, approving a Conditional Use Permit for vehicle repair at 7480 County Highway
101 East, subject to conditions.

• Robbins—Aye
• Sepulvado—Aye
Result: Motion passed unanimously.
6.b Public Hearing—Conditional Use Permit for Exterior Storage
1555 Maras Street
Motion by Commissioner Forsythe, second by Commissioner Robbins, to open the public
hearing.
Vote: Motion carried unanimously(voice vote).
Staff presented the request for a Conditional Use Permit to allow exterior storage for multiple
tenants at the site.
Motion by Commissioner Robbins, second by Commissioner Sandhu, to continue the Public
Hearing until the February 5, 2026, meeting. Vote: Motion carried unanimously.

Result: Motion passed unanimously.
