Board of Adjustment and Appeals Meeting
City of Shakopee
Thursday, September 4, 2025

1. Roll Call
Present: Commissioners Robbins, Weiler, Forsythe, Ranua and Sandhu
Absent: Commissioners Reding and Sepulvado
2. Approval of Agenda
Motion by Robbins seconded by Sandhu
Passed unanimously
3. Recognition by Board of Adjustment and Appeals of Interested Citizens
None
4. General Business
4.a PUBLIC HEARING: Conditional Use Permit for Exterior Storage in the I-2, Heavy
Industry Zone at 4000 Valley Industrial Blvd South
Motion by Forsythe and seconded by Sandhu to open public hearing
Sta? presented the case for exterior storage. Palmer Bus recently received the van
contract for the Shakopee Public Schools. They will be storing the daily use vans
inside the building and will have some spare vehicles outside along with the employee
parking. The applicant will be completing some additional landscaping screening. There
will be a 1,000-gallon storage tank for fuel.
Victoria Perbix, President, presented for Interstate Development, the property owner.
They are excited to have Palmer at the property and will have the screening installed next
Monday.
Brian Lynch, Director of Buildings, Properties & Fuel for Palmer Bus talked about the added
service for special needs transportation. Main site does not have capacity for the
equipment. Commissioner Robbins asked if School buses will be stored there. Lift buses
will remain at the current location.
Commissioner Forsythe asked about the 40 parking spaces. 25 will be inside, 18 will be left
Outside along with the 40 part time drivers. Two thirds of the building is open space inside.
Chair Ranua added the additional screening is appreciated.
Commissioner Robbins moved to close the public hearing and seconded by Commissioner
Weiler. Approve unanimously.
Commissioner PC2025-005 approving the exterior storage subject to the conditions.
Seconded by Forsythe. Passed unanimously.
