Dear Mr. McNeil and Councilmen,
Vision Shakopee would like to propose that the City of Shakopee look into an agreement
between the City and Vision Shakopee regarding a mutual funding option instead of a
Special Service District. This funding option would have the City of Shakopee match
dollar for dollar, up to $20,000, what Vision Shakopee raises.
This does raise questions as to other organiz~tions requesting money also. We have put a
lot of thought into this question and come up with a list of criteria:
1. The funds.raised and matched could only be spent on capital improvements for
the area designated for such improvements as shown on the enclosed map.
2. Only an organization that is a 501c3, holds regularly scheduled board meetings,
and prepares yearly budgets could be considered. Vision Shakopee is such an
organization.
3. A yearly capital improvement plan and budget that matches city funds would have
to be presented and approved by the Shakopee City Council.
We thank you for your time and consideration of our request.
Kind Regards,
d. t..- ~ ~~
