BACKGROUND: The Police Civil Service Commission conducted the necessary testing that created the Police Officer eligible register. The following names are the top three candidates listed on the eligible register established by the Police Civil Service Commission. S Carl Bock , 'S Paul 0' Hanlon S Vincent Stahl Minnesota State Statute Chapter 419 requires the Police Civil Service Commission to submit the top three names listed on the eligible register to the Appointing Authority . (City Council), to fill any vacancy. Staff recommends that Vincent Stahl be hired at Step 1 ofthe current police officer labor contract. BUDGET IMPACT: Funds exist in the Police Departments budget for this position. AL TERNATIVES: 1. Do not authorize the hire. 2. Authorize hire. RECOMMENDATION: Alternative #2. Staff recommends Council authorize the hiring Vincent Stahl as probationary police officer.
