CITY OF SHAKOPEE CONSENT
Memorandum
TO: Shakopee City Council
FROM: John Schmitt, Mayor
SUBJECT: 2007 Liaison Appointments
DATE: January, 2007
INTRODUCTION:
The Council is asked to endorse the following Council Liaison appointments for 2007.
BACKGROUND:
In order to maintain effective communications individual members of the City Council
are typically appointed as liaison to the various groups with whom the City deals.
Unless the Council has strong feelings to the contrary, I propose to not designate. Council
Liaisons to those Boards and Commission (EAC and PRAB) that have city staff in
attendance on a regular basis. As the original intent of the liaison was to serve as a
conduit for information between the advisory boards and the Council, it seems to me to
be an unnecessary duplication of attendees, especially in consideration of individual
councilors' busy schedules. Councilors are always welcome to attend any advisory board
or commission meeting on their own.
I would like to appoint the following people as liaisons or Council officer for 2007:
2007 Liaison Appointments
1. Acting Mayor - Steve Menden
2. Shakopee Public Utilities Commission Liaison - Terry J005
