Public Works 2005 Wages IS.E.I, CITY OF SHAKOPEE Memorandum CO~JSEtIT TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: Mark McNeill, City Administrator SUBJECT: Public Works 2005 Wages DATE: December 29,2004 INTRODUCTION: The Council is asked to adopt a pay plan reflecting the additional one-half percent for the 2005 Public Works bargaining unit. BACKGROUND: At the December ih meeting the Council granted a 3% COLA to non-contract employees. The two year contract negotiated in 2004 for the Public Works union called for 2005 wages to be the greater of 2.5%, or what was received by the non-contract employees. Attached is the pay plan to be inserted into the Public Works Contract for 2005, showing the additional Y2%. BUDGET IMPACT: The additional Y2% is provided in the 2005 operating budget. ACTION REQUIRED: The Council, should, by motion, ratify the 2005 pay plan for Public Works as attached. 1f4JL~~ Mark McNeill City Administrator MM:th . Operator $16.717 Mechanic Apprentice $15.527 APPENDIX B Employees assigned by the Employer as acting Foreperson shall be compensated $.60/hour above the Maintenance Worker step 8 position for the time they are assigned to that position. Assignments shall be for a minimum period of 2 hours. The position shall be assigned at the sole discretion of the Employer. 13
