Staffhas budgeted $15,000.00 for this purchase. BACKGROUND: Staff is requesting to purchase a used forklift for the Shop Division. This forklift is used to move and store equipment and supply's in and around the shop. Staff had always borrowed the Public Utilities forklift, but since they have moved, this is no longer an option. Staff had budgeted $15,000.00 for this purchase and has recently received two quotes. Attached to this memo are the quotes received from Minnesota Supply Company ($16,695.00) and Quality Forklift Sales and Service, Inc. ($14,000.00). Staff is requesting council to accept the low quote from Quality Forklift Sales and Service, Inc. for the purchase price of $14,000.00. AL TERNA TIVES: 1. Accept the low quote from Quality Forklift Sales and Service, Inc. for one used forklift for the purchase price of$14,000.00. 2. Deny the request. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends alternative No.1.
