Cox, City Clerk RE: Appointment of Election Judges DATE: April 15, 2005 INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND: Minnesota State Statutes require that election judges be appointed by the governing body 25 days prior to the election. The attached resolution appoints judges for the May 24, 2005 Special Election. (Weare continuing to call and line up election judges to work. We will have a revised resolution on the table Tuesday night.) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Offer Resolution No. 6179, A Resolution Appointing Judges of Election and Establishing Compensation, and move its adoption. [i:election\resappoingudge] . RESOLUTION NO. 6179 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING JUDGES OF ELECTION AND ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA, THAT: 1. The following persons are hereby appointed Judges of Election for the November 2, 2004 General Election for the twelve polling precincts within the City of Shakopee designated in Resolution No. 6058, adopted June 15,2004. The Election Judges shall be compensated for their work at the rate of $8.00 per hour and the Chairperson of the Election Judges shall be compensated at the rate of $9.00 per hour. 3. The proper officials be and hereby are authoriied and directed to do and perform all acts necessary to carry out the terms, intents, and purposes of the Resolution.
