Re: Amend 2005 Pay Schedule
INTRODUCTION:
The Council is asked to adopt a Resolution amending the 2005 Classification Grade
Levels Schedule of the 2005 pay Plan.
BACKGROUND:
An upgraded job description for the position of Records Clerk and subsequent placement
in Grade 3 from the current Grade Level 2 on the pay plan was approved by City Council
in February, 2005. This was in conjunction with the acquisition and implementation of
an electronic imaging system for the city.
Under separate cover on this agenda, Council action is being requested to approve ajob
description for a Telecommunication Coordinator position and placement on the 2005
pay schedule at Grade 6 which is the recommended placement by Rod Kelsey, the City's
Pay Consultant. The Telecommunication Coordinator classification will replace the
Television Production Specialist classification in Grade 4.
The 2005 Classification Grade Levels Schedule needs to be amended to reflect the
changes indicated.
ACTION REQUESTED:
If Council concurs, it should, by motion adopt:

A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 6156 WHICH ADOPTED
THE 2005 PAY SCHEDULE FOR THE OFFICERS AND NON-UNION
EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SHAKO PEE
WHEREAS, on December 7, 2004, the City Council of the City of Shakop~e,
Minnesota, adopted Resolution No. 6156, approving the 2005 Pay Schedule for the
Officers and Non-Union Employees oftheCity of Shako pee; and
WHEREAS, on February 15, 2005, the City Council ofthe City of Shakopee,
Minnesota, approved the revised job description for a full-time Records Clerk position
and upgraded the classification from Pay Grade 2 to Grade 3; and,
WHEREAS, on May 17,2005, the City Council approved the job description for a
Telecommunications Coordinator with placement in Pay Grade 6 as recommended by the
city's pay consultant. In addition, the Television Production Specialist, Grade 4 is
eliminated.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA that the attached 2005 Classification Grade levels and Pay
Maximums schedule is hereby amended to change the Records Clerk classification to
Grade 3, add the Telecommunications Coordinator classification to Grade 6 and the
classification of Television Production Specialist has been deleted.
Adopted in session of the City of Shako pee, Minnesota, held this
