Introduction:
The City Council is asked to adopt a resolution of appreciation for Eileen Klimek, who is retiring
from the position of Sr. Accounting Clerk after more than 26 years of service to the City.
Background:
Eileen Klimek will be retiring from the position of Sr. Accounting Clerk, effective December 30,
2011, after more than twenty -six years of service to the City of Shakopee. As is the practice for
long -time employees who are retiring, a Resolution of Appreciation has been drafted, and is
attached for the Council's consideration.
Relationship to Visioning:
This supports Goal E, "Deliver effective and efficient public services by a staff of well- trained,
caring, and professional employees."
Request Action:
If the Council concurs, it should offer Resolution No.7153, a resolution of appreciation for
Eileen M. Klimek, and move its adoption.
RESOLUTION NO 7153
A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION FOR
EILEEN M. KLIMEK
WHEREAS, Eileen M. Klimek began work as an Accounting Clerk with the City of
Shakopee, Minnesota, on March 26, 1985 and was promoted to Sr. Accounting
Clerk on January 1, 2002; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Klimek has proven to be a loyal and dedicated employee of the
City, providing the Finance department with an exceptional level of
professionalism and integrity; and
WHEREAS, after providing more than twenty -six years of dedicated service,
Eileen is retiring December 30, 2011.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA, that it hereby accepts with regret the resignation of
Eileen M. Klimek, as Sr. Accounting Clerk , effective December 30, 2011; and

WHEREAS, the City has benefitted greatly from her expertise, dedication and
strong sense of service, providing the City with consistent base of knowledge and
commitment; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE,
MINNESOTA, expresses its deep appreciation for Eileen's many contributions to
the City and extends to her its best wishes for a long and happy retirement.
Adopted in adjourned regular session of the City Council of the City of Shakopee,
Minnesota held this 20 day of December, 2011.
