Cox, City Clerk ','' - SUBJKT: Canvassing Retums for the 2011 Municipal Election DATE: November 10, 1011 INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND: Attached is a resolution canvassing the election returns for the municipal election held on November 8, 2011. Of the 19,223 registered voters, 4,195 voters cast their ballots on November 8, 2011. This represents a 21.8% voter turnout. (The 2009 voter turnout was 23.8%.) (Note that page 3 of the attached abstract shows that Precinct 9 had 273 voters and that the resolution shows a total of 269 voters. This discrepancy is due to the fact that there were four voters from Prior Lake Precincts 5 and 7 who voted in Shakopee Precinct 9 because they are in the Shakopee School District. They did not have the mayor and city council races on their ballot. The is the first odd year that Prior Lake did not have a city election so these voters voted in Shakopee Precinct 9.)
