BACKGROUND: ,
In April, 2010, an Information Technology (IT) Internal Service Fund was established by

staff discovered that this transfer was not completed in 2010 as originally authorized, resulting
in a currently lower than anticipated cash position for the new fund. I
Also, a significant purchase of $25,453 in December of 2010, was approved by Council to be
taken from the General Fund operating budget but was mistakenly coded to the IT Fund, I
further reducing the IT Fund's cash position.
Documentation to support the Council's original direction on both of these transactions is
attached.
