INTRODUCTION The City Council is asked to approve quotes to proceed with the completion of facility projects at the Community Center and Ice Arena. BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION During the 2012 budget presentations the City Council was presented with four budget improvement items for the Shakopee Community Center and Ice Arena. During the budget discussion the City Council determined that the budget improvement items were needed facility projects. The items include; replacement of Ice Arena flooring, replacement of Ice Arena radiant heat, replacement of the Community Center walking track surface and replacement of the Community Center gym divider. Staff has obtained two quotes for all four projects. Following is a summary of the , obtained quotes: A) !ce Arena Flooring a. Becker Arena Products, Inc $80,502.11 b. Sonus Interiors, Inc. $85,177.51 B) Ice Arena Radianf Heafing � a. Owens Companies, Inc. $27,450.00 b. Northland Mechanical Contractors, Inc. $45,875.00 C) Community Cenfer Walking Track Surface Overlay a. Dynamic Sports Construction, Inc $47,420.00 b. Kiefer $43,230.00 D) Community Center Gym Divider a. Centre Stage Manufacturing Company, LLC $4,170.00 b. Haldeman — Homme, Inc $7,352.00 I BUDGETIMPACT The Community Center and Ice Arena facility projects will be funded utilizing the existing Building Fund that contains a balance of approximately $7,000,000. VISIONING RELATIONSHIP A: Keep Shakopee a safe and healthy community where residents can pursue � active and quality lifestyles. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that the quotes from Becker Arena Products, Inc., Owens Companies, Inc, Kiefer and Centre Stage Manufacturing Company, LLC be accepted and authorized for purchase. REQUESTED ACTION If the Council approves it should, by motion, authorize according to the quotes submitted for the Community Center and Ice Arena facility projecfs the purchase of services and/or materials from: 1. Becker Arena Products, Inc. for the Ice Arena flooring replacement. 2. Owens Companies, Inc. for the Ice Arena radiant heating. 3. Kiefer for the Community Center walking track surface overlay. 4. Centre Stage Manufacturing Company, LLC for replacement of the gym divider curtain. I I I 1 .c.1.
