Subject: Request for Overnight Use of the Youth Building and use of a
Portable Fire pit
INTRODUCTION
The City Council is asked to authorize the overnight use of the Youth Building and use of
a portable fire pit for a youth event sponsored by Illumination Church.
DISCUSSION
Illumination Church has requested to use the youth building for an overnight youth
retreat beginning at 10am Saturday, October 22 " to the morning of Sunday, October
23 The request states that the purpose of the rental and overnight is to provide a
retreat atmosphere for their youth members (7 -1 2 tH graders) and leaders. They plan to
have games, indoor music and food during the day of the 22 At night the group is
requesting permission to utilize a portable fire pit for a bonfire in the parking lot where
the group will have low key music and chatting. The exterior activities will end at 10pm
when the leaders and youth will retire to their respective sleeping quarters. The youth to
leader ratio will be 5 -1 and the group will be out by 7am on the 23
This request extends beyond the park hours of 6am -10pm and requires City Council
approval. The group will be required to pay the daily rental rate.

REQUESTED ACTION
If Council concurs, authorize the overnight use of the Youth Building and use of a
portable fire pit for a youth event sponsored by Illumination Church from 10am October
22, 2011 to 7am October 23, 2011.
