No. 7119City of Shakopee MEMORANDUM C 0 R, ` ra'A TO: Mayor and City Council Mark McNeill, City Administrator FROM: Kris Wilson, Assistant City Administrator SUBJECT: Amending the 2011 Non -Union Pay Plan DATE: September 1, 2011 Introduction The Council is asked to adopt Resolution No. 7119, adopting a revised 2011 pay plan for City employees. Background The Council is asked to amend the 2011 Non -Union Pay Plan to include the newly approved position of Accountant in Grade 7 and Police Evidence Technician in Grade 3. No changes are being made to the salary ranges for either grade or to the grade for any other non -union positions. The position of Senior Accounting Clerk will remain in Grade 5 through the end of 2011 and will be eliminated with adoption of the 2012 pay plan. Budget Impact The budget impact of each of these items has been formally accounted for in the 2012 preliminary operating budgets of the Police and Finance Departments, and can be accommodated for the remainder of 2011 due to salary savings from other vacant or transitioning positions. Relationship to Vision Proper compensation of City employees relates to Goal E: Deliver effective and efficient public services by a staff of well- trained, caring and professional employees. Requested Action: If the Council concurs, it should offer Resolution 7119, a resolution amending Resolution No. 7067, adopting the 2011 Pay Plan for Certain Non -Union Employees of the City Shakopee, and move its adoption. RESOLUTION No. 7119 A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION No. 7067, ADOPTING THE 2011 PAY PLAN FOR CERTAIN NON -UNION EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE AND AUTHORIZING 2011 SALARIES FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA, that the 2011 Pay Plan for Non -Union Employee of the City of Shakopee is hereby amended to include the following newly- created positions in the pay grades indicated: Grade 7 Accountant Grade 3 Police Evidence Technician Adopted in regular session of the City Council of the City of Shakopee, Minnesota, held this 6th day of September, 2011.
