SUBJECT: Appointment to Transit Commission

INTRODUCTION:
City Council is asked to consider Resolution No. 7114 appointing James "Rob" Litzenberger
to the Transit Commission.
BACKGROUND:
The Transit Commission is composed of five members and currently has a vacancy for the
unexpired term of Fran Hagen.
Three applications were received for appointment to the Transit Commission in January
when the City accepted applications to fill numerous expiring terms on the City's boards
and commissions. Councilors Punt and Lehman were on the Interview Committee and
participated in the interviews for all applicants. The incumbent, Jeremy Casper, was j
reappointed at that time. Councilors Punt and Lehman are recommending the appointment
of Mr. Litzenberger to fill the unexpired term on the Transit Commission. Mr. Litzenberger
has been contacted and he is still interested in appointment.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Offer Resolution No. 7114, A Resolution Appointing James "Rob" Litzenberger to the Transit
Commission, and move its adoption.

RESOLUTION NO. 7114
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING JAMES "ROB" LITZENBERGER TO THE
TRANSIT COMMISSION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA, that the
following appointment hereby be made:
James "Rob" Litzenberger is appointed to the Transit Commission to fill the unexpired
term of Fran Hagen, which will expire February 28, 2012.
Adopted in adj. regular session of the City Council of the City of Shakopee, Minnesota,
held this 16th day of August, 2011.
