SUBJECT: Employee Separation Recognition
DATE: July 19, 2011
Comment:
Introduction:
On the Consent Agenda for the July 19 meeting will be Resolutions of Appreciation for
three separating employees: Therese (Scherer) Romsdahl, Carrie Duckett, and Robert
Schmit.
Background:
As is the practice of the City of Shakopee, the Resolution of Appreciation for years of
service is considered by the City Council upon the honorable separation of an employee,
who have served a minimum number of years with the City.
The three employees who should be recognized by the City Council at this time are:
Robert Schmit (Facilities) - 7 years
Carrie Duckett (IT) -7 years
Therese (Scherer) Romsdahl (Police Department) — 30 years
At the July 19 City Council meeting, a Resolution of Appreciation for each of these
employees will be available, and placed "on the table ".
Recommendation:
I recommend that the Council adopt the proposed resolutions.
Relationship to Visioning:
This supports Goal E: "Deliver effective and efficient public services by staff of well
trained, caring, and professional employees ".
Action Required:
If the Council concurs, it should, by motion, adopt Resolutions of Appreciation for the
following City employees:
Robert Schmit
Carrie Duckett
Therese (Scherer) Romsdahl
Mark McNeill
City Administrator
