SUBJECT: Resolutions of Appreciation for 25 and 30 -year Employees

Introduction
The City Council is asked to adopt the attached Resolutions of Appreciation for four employees who
have reached service milestones in the past 12 months.
Background
Every spring at the Employee Picnic, the City recognizes employees who have reached certain years
of service to the City over the past year. This year we are honoring those with service milestones
occurring between June 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011. Employees marking 5, 10, 15 and 20 years of
service are given certificates. Employees marking 25 and 30 years of service are traditionally
presented with Resolutions of Appreciation adopted by the Council, while those being recognized for
35 years of service are awarded a plaque.
This year we have numerous employees to recognize. (A complete list is attached.)
Council is being asked to adopt one Resolution of Appreciation for an employee marking 25 years of
service and three for employees marking 30 years of service.

Relationship to Goals
The contributions of these long -term employees directly relates to Goal E: Deliver effective and
efficient public services by a staff of well- trained, caring and professional employees.
Requested Action
The Council is asked to offer Resolutions No. 7098 recognizing Judy Techam for providing 25 -years of
service and Resolution No. 7099, 7100 and 7101 recognizing Theresa Scherer, Jeanette Shaner and
Pat Pennington for 30 -years of service to the City of Shakopee, and move their adoption.

A RESOLUTION OF SPECIAL COMMENDATION TO
JUDY TECHAM
ON THE 25 ANNIVERSARY OF HER EMPLOYMENT
WITH THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE
Be it remembered that on the 2nd day of February, 1986, Judy
Techam entered City employment and from that date on he has faithfully
served the City of Shakopee, its citizens and residents over and beyond the
call of duty for all these many years.
Therefore, be it resolved by the Shakopee City Council that the City
hereby expresses its deep appreciation and gratitude and do hereby commend
Judy Techam, for her devotion to duty, her loyalty and her friendship.
Adopted in Adj. Regular Session of the City Council of the City of
Shakopee, Minnesota, held this 17th day of May, 2011.

ON THE 30' ANNIVERSARY OF HER EMPLOYMENT

Be it remembered that on the 29th day of September, 1980, Pat
Pennington entered City employment and from that date on she has faithfully
served the City of Shakopee, its citizens and residents over and beyond the
call of duty for all these many years.
Therefore, be it resolved by the Shakopee City Council that the City
hereby expresses its deep appreciation and gratitude and do hereby commend
Pat Pennington, for her devotion to duty, her loyalty and her friendship.
