Surplus Property-VehiclesTo: Honorable Mayor, City Council, Mark McNeill, City Administrator From: Chris Dellwo, Captain Subject: Surplus Property Date: February 9, 2011 INTRODUCTION The Shakopee Police Depatment is seeking council approval to declare three vehicles as surplus property. BACKGROUND A description of the vehicles: 1. 1996 Plymouth Voyager, VIN: 2P4GP44R7TR705927 2. 1996 Plymouth Breeze, VIN: 1P3EJ46C3TN281665 3. 2000 Ford Explorer, VIN: 1FMZU73E3YUA66229 The vehicles were obtained through successful forfeiture proceedings. The vehicles will be sold at auction. VISIONING RELATIONSHIP This action supports: Goal C: Maintain the City's Strong Financial Health Strategy 10: Ensure City's Fiscal Health ALTERNATIVES RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends alternative one. ACTION REQUESTED CITY OF SHAKOPEE Police Department Memorandum 1. Authorize staff to declare the vehicles as surplus property. 2. Do not authorize. If Council concurs, they should by motion declare the 1996 Plymouth Voyager, VIN: 2P4GP44R7TR705927; the 1996 Plymouth Breeze, VIN: 1P3EJ46C3TN281665; and the 2000 Ford Explorer, VIN: 1FMZU73E3YUA66229 as surplus property.
