Subject: Accepting Donation from the Shakopee Jaycees
INTRODUCTION
Attached is Resolution No. 7082, a Resolution of the City of Shakopee, Minnesota,
Accepting a Donation of $1,000 from the Shakopee Jaycees.
BACKGROUND
The City has received a donation from the Shakopee Jaycees in support of the Enigma
Teen Center. The donation would support the purchasing of recreational equipment for
the teen center.
This supports Goal D — "Maintain, improve, and create strong partnerships with other
public and private sector entities ".
REQUESTED ACTION
If City Council concurs, it should, offer Resolution No. 7082, a Resolution of the City of
Shakopee, Minnesota, Accepting a Donation of $1000.00 from the Shakopee Jaycees,
and move its adoption.

RESOLUTION NO. 7082
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA
ACCEPTING A DONATION OF $1,000.00 FROM THE SHAKOPEE JAYCEES
WHEREAS, on November 6, 2002, the City Council adopted Resolution
No. 5794, which established procedure relating to the receipt of gifts and
donations by the City; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No 5794 specifies that donations of real property
shall be accepted by resolution of the City Council, and shall require a two- thirds
majority of the Council for acceptance; and
WHEREAS, the SHAKOPEE JAYCEES have generously donated
$1000.00 from proceeds to support the Enigma Teen Center; and
WHEREAS, such a donation will help improve the teen center facility and
enhance the overall opportunities and quality of life in Shakopee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA, that the donation of $1000.00 from
the SHAKOPEE JAYCEES is gratefully accepted; and
FURTHER, the money shall be used in the City's teen center facility,
which is consistent with the wishes of the donor.
FURTHER, the City staff is directed to send a letter to the donor,
acknowledging receipt of the gift and expressing the appreciation of the City
Council.
Adopted in regular session of the City Council of the City of Shakopee,
Minnesota, held this 1 day of February, 2011.
