CITY OF SHAKOPEE � ����� Memorandum TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: Mark McNeill, City Administrator SUBJECT: Civil Service Commission Appointment DATE: May 15, 2012 COMMENT: Introduction: The Council is asked to appoint Jennifer Mackenthun to fill the recently created vacancy on the Civil Service Commission. Background: A vacancy was created on the Police Civil Service Commission by the resignation of Commissioner Carol Schultz. Her unexpired term runs through February 28, 2014. After speaking with the members of the Advisory Boards and Commissions interview panel, the recommendation is to appoint Jennifer Mackenthun to fill the vacancy. Ms. Mackenthun was one of the other candidates who interviewed in February. We recently reaffirmed her interest and availability to fill the open position. Recommendation: The recommendation of the interview panel is to appoint Jennifer Mackenthun to fill the vacancy on the Civil Service Commission. Relationship to Visioning: This supports Goal F, "Housekeeping". Action Required: If the council concurs, it should adopt the following resolution: Resolution No. 7195 A Resolution Appointing Jennifer Mackenthun to Fill An Unexpired Term on the Police Civil Service Commission � "�� 1 ����'�' '/ V� �1�,�,�.,(.� Mark McNeill City Administrator RESOLUTION NO. 7195 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING JENNIFER MACKENTHUN TO FILL AN UNEXPIRED TERM ON THE POLICE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION I BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA, that the following appointment hereby be made: Jennifer Mackenthun is appointed to the Police Civil Service Commission to fill the unexpired term of Carol Schultz, which will expire February 28, 2014.
