� INTRODUCTION: I
� The Police Department is requesting Council approval to hire Philip Sendelbach as a full-time, '
' pi�obationary Community Service Officer (CSO). !

I BACKGROUND: i
The Police Department's 2012 operating budget includes funding for 2 full-time Community
Service Officers. With the recent promotion of Joe Theis to a licensed officer position, the �
Department now has an open CSO position. ,
I ;
The current eligible register for the position of Community Service Officer lists the following �
individuals as the top three candidates (in alphabetical order): �

Rebecca Pieper �
� Philip Sendelbach �

' RECOMMENDATION: �
Chief Tate recommends that Philip Sendelbach be hired at Step E of Grade Leve12 of the City's �
2012 Non-Union Pay Plan ($16.46 per hour). �
