� The Council is asked to consider a date in which to have the first regular City Council meeting in !
February. �

BACKGROUND: I
i
The first regular meeting in February would normally be Tuesday, February 7th. However, that ,
,
is also the day of precinct caucuses, and by State Law, Council will be prohibited from meeting i
after 6:00 p.m. on that day.
�

; City Code Section 2.02 provides that regular meetings of the Council shall be held in the Council
; chambers on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 o'clock P.M. The Council may, by
resolution adopted not less than one (1) week prior thereto, change its regular time of ineeting. '

As has been past practice, staff recommends designating the first meeting in February to be i
Wednesday, February 8th. I

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

If Council concurs, it should, by motion, offer Resolution No. 7158, A Resolution Changing the

February 7, 2012 Council Meeting Date, and move its adoption.

_ A RESOLUTION CHANGING THE FEBRUARY 7, 2012
COUNCIL MEETING DATE
WHEREAS, the Shakopee City Code has set the first Tuesday of each month as the
regular meeting date for the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Shakopee City Code allows the City Council to change the meeting date
by adopting a resolution at least one week prior to the regularly scheduled meeting.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE !T RESOLVED 8Y THE ClTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE,
i MINNESOTA, that the February 7, 2012 regularly scheduled City Council meeting be changed to
February 8, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. !
