To: Honorable Mayor, City Council Mark McNeill, City Administrator From: Chris Dellwo, Sergeant Subject: Surplus Property Date: October 31, 2006 INTRODUCTION The Shakopee Police Department is seeking council approval to declare three vehicles as surplus property. BACKGROUND A description of the vehicles: 1. 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, VIN: lGNEK13Z52J272774 2. 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier, VIN: IGIJC1247X7127520 3. 1996 Buick Regal, VIN: 2G4WB52MXT1400668 These vehicles were obtained through successful forfeiture proceedings and are not suitable for City use. The vehicles will be sold at auction. Visionin2: Relationship This action supports: Goal E: Financially Strong Strategy 10: Ensure City's Fiscal Health ALTERNATIVES 1. Authorize staff to declare vehicles as surplus property. 2. Do not authorize. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends alternative one. ACTION REQUESTED If Council concurs, they should by motion declare the 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, VIN: IGNEK13Z52J272774, the 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier, VIN: IGIJC1247X7127520, and the 1996 Buick Regal, VIN: 2G4WB52MXT1400668 as surplus property.
