Extension, from the Prior Lake Interceptor to the
East Plat Line of Riverside Bluffs, Project No. 2006-4

INTRODUCTION:
Attached is Resolution No. 6514, a resolution which adopts the assessment for the above
referenced proj ect.
BACKGROUND:
This project has essentially been completed and all project costs identified. The final
project cost is $344,930.26, which consists of construction costs, financing costs and
engineering/administration costs. A breakdown ofthe project costs are as follows:

City Costs (Trunk Sanitary Sewer Fund) $223,327.37
Assessments $305,930.28
TOTAL PROJECT COSTS $529,257.65
Benefitting properties were assessed for an S-inch lateral line with the City paying
oversizing costs.
Attached to this memo is the assessment roll for Council consideration and adoption.
\) A presentation of the final costs and assessments will be made at the Council meeting.
ALTERNATIVES:
1. Adopt Resolution No. 6514.

2. Deny Resolution No. 6514.
3. Table Resolution No. 6514 for specific reasons.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends Alternative No.1.
ACTION REQUESTED:
Offer Resolution No. 6514, A Resolution Adopting Assessments for the Trunk Sanitary
Sewer Extension, from the Prior Lake Interceptor to the East Plat Line of Riverside
Bluffs, Project No. 2006-4 and move it adoption.

RESOLUTION NO. 6514
A Resolution Adopting Assessments
For The Trunk Sanitary Sewer Extension,
From The Prior Lake Interceptor
To The East Plat Line Of Riverside Bluffs
Project No. 2006-4
WHEREAS, pursuant to proper notice duly given as required by law, the City Council of
the City of Shakopee met and heard and passed upon all objections to the proposed assessments of:
Parcel No.'s 27-914010-0 and 27-914009-0
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL YED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SHAKO PEE, MINNESOTA:
1. That such proposed assessment together with any amendments thereof, a copy of which
is attached hereto and made a part hereof, is hereby accepted and shall constitute the special
assessment against the lands named herein and each tract therein included is hereby found. to be
benefitted by the proposed improvements in the amount ofthe assessments levied against it.
2. Such assessments shall be payable over a period of ten years, the first installment to be
payable on or before the first Monday in January, 2007, and shall bear interest at the rate of 8.00
percent per annum from the date of the adoption of this assessment resolution. To. the first
installment shall be added the interest on the entire assessment from the date of this resolution until
December 31, 2007.
3. The owner of any property so assessed may, at any time prior to certification of the
assessment to the County Auditor, pay the whole of the assessment on such property, with interest
accrued to the date of payment, to the City Treasurer, except that no interest shall be charged if the
entire assessment is paid within thirty (30) days from the adoption of this resolution; the owner
may thereafter pay to the County Treasurer the installment and interest in process of collection on
the current tax list, and may pay the remaining principal balance of the assessment to the City
Treasurer.
4. The Clerk shall file the assessment rolls pertaining to this assessment in her office and
shall certify annually to the County Auditor on or before November 30th of each year the total
amount of installments and interest on assessments on each parcel of land which are to become due
in the following year.
