No. 6043 /5~E.9f CITY OF SHAKOPEE Memorandum CONSENT TO: Mayor and City Council Mark McNeill, City Administrator FROM: Marilyn Remer, Payroll/Benefits Coordinator SUBJECT: New Classifications for Non-Contract Positions DATE: April 2, 2004 INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND: On January 20, 2004, the City Council approved the job description for the new classification of Custodian. Under a separate action on April 6, 2004, City Council is requested to approve the job description for the new classification of Information Technology (IT) Specialist. Resolution No. 6043 amends the 2004 Classification Grade Levels by adding the new classifications. ACTION REQUESTED: Offer Resolution No. 6043, A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 5982 WHICH ADOPTED THE 2004 PAY SCHEDULE FOR THE OFFICERS AND NON- UNION EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE and move its adoption. RESOLUTION NO. 6043 A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 5982 WHICH ADOPTED THE 2004 PAY SCHEDULE FOR THE OFFICERS AND NON-UNION EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE WHEREAS, on December 2, 2003, the City Council ofthe City of Shakopee; Minnesota, adopted Resolution No. 5982, approving the 2004 Pay Schedule for the officers and non-union employees of the City of Shako pee; and WHEREAS, on January 20,2004, the City council ofthe City of Shako pee, Minnesota, approved the Custodian position description at Pay Grade 1; and WHEREAS, on April 6, 2004, the City council of the City of Shako pee, Minnesota, approved the Information Technology (IT) Specialist position description at Pay Grade 6. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA, that adding the Custodian and Information Technology (IT) Specialist classifications hereby amends the attached Classification Grade Level Rooster of the 2004 Pay Plan.
