INTRODUCTION:
Council is asked to declare items held by the Police Department as surplus property.
BACKGROUND:
The Police Department is currently in possession of numerous articles that have been recovered
or found and stored over the last several years. The Police Department would like to declare
these items as surplus property. Items of value would be auctioned off. Items that are not
auctioned or in good condition will be destroyed.
VISIONING RELATIONSHIP:
This action supports:
Goal C: Maintain the City's strong financial health.
Goal F: Housekeeping Item.
.Strategy 10: Ensure City's fiscal health.
ALTERNATIVES:
1. Authorize staff to declare the items as surplus property.
2. Do not authorize.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends alternative one.
ACTION REQUESTED:
If Council concurs, they should, by motion, declare these items as surplus property.
