Release of Surplus EquipmentCity of Shakopee Memorandum TO: Mayor and City Council Mark McNeill, City Administrator FROM: John Peterson, Telecommunications Coordinator SUBJECT: Release of Surplus Equipment DATE: September 2, 2010 ~.F,S CONSEtdi Introduction The City Council is asked to declare the following piece of telecommunication equipment surplus property and authorize donation to Carver County. Background After upgrading the chamber control room we ended up with an old Anchor AN-100 speaker that is no longer needed. This item has been just set aside and has no foreseeable use for our operations. However, the Carver County Board Room was also recently updated and it could use this speaker. Telecommunications Commission member Bill Anderson has asked staff to consider a donation or sale. As staff cannot foresee a use for this speaker in our own operations and it is over five years old, it has little or no monetary value. Therefore, we are asking Council to declare this item as surplus property and authorize donation to Carver County. Action Requested If Council concurs, it should offer a motion to declare the Anchor AN-100 speaker as surplus property and authorize donation to Carver County.
