SUBJECT: Temporary 3.2 Percent Malt Liquor License — Shakopee Jaycees Inc.

INTRODUCTION
Shakopee Jaycees Inc. has made application for a temporary on -sale 3.2 percent malt
liquor license for Derby Days on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 5, 6, 7, 2010.
Thursday sales will be discontinued when the Teen DJ Dance begins, as has been done in
the past.
The application is in order and the certificate of insurance is on order.
Captain Robson has been contacted regarding the application. He advised that the
Police Department has no objections to the granting of the license or the hours of sale
proposed.
Last year City Council extended the provisions from the 2008 license restriction on the
sale of alcohol for Friday and Saturday and approved the sales of 3.2 percent malt liquor
until 12:00 midnight, with the bar being cleared of alcohol by 12:30 a.m. and everyone
out of Huber Park by 1:00 a.m.

RECOMMENDED ACTION
Move to approve the application and grant a temporary on -sale 3.2 percent malt liquor
license to the Shakopee Jaycees, Inc., for the fenced in beer garden at Huber Park, on
Thursday, August 5, 2010 with sales to cease at 8:00 p.m.; and on Friday and Saturday,
August 6 and August 7, 2010, with sales to cease at 12:00 midnight and the bar being
cleared of alcohol by 12:30 a.m.
