SUBJECT: Surplus Property

INTRODUCTION:
Council is asked to declare items held by the Police Department as surplus property.
BACKGROUND:
The Police Department currently is in possession of numerous bicycles that have been recovered
and stored over the last several months. The Police Department would like to declare three
bicycles as surplus property to donate to the Scott County Human Services.
The first bicycle is a white Mongoose KO that was recovered on January 29, 2010.
The second bicycle is a red NEXT Power W that was recovered on April 3, 2010.
The third bicycle is a purple Magna Great Divide that was recovered on January 24, 2010.
All three bicycles have serial numbers that were run through portals and our in house system for
a possible owner. All three bikes do not come back with an owner.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends Council declare these items held by the Police Department as surplus property
for the purpose of donating.
ACTION REQUESTED:
If the Council concurs, it, should, by motion, declare these items surplus property and authorize
staff to donate these items to Scott County Human Services.
