Action Sought
Offer Resolution No. 7622, A Resolution Restricting Parking on CSAH 16, from
CSAH 83 to CSAR 18, in order to meet State Aid Requirements, and move its
adoption.
Background
Scott County will be reconstructing CSAH 16 from CSAH 83 to CSAH 21 in
2016. In order to meet State Aid requirements on this project, a resolution
restricting parking on CSAH 16 is necessary.The resolution is to restrict parking on
CSAH 16, from CSAH 83 to CSAH 18.
Recommendation
Staff recommends Approving Resolution No. 7622, a Resolution Restricting
Parking on CSAR 16 from CSAH 83 to CSAR 18, in order for the City and County
to obtain State Aid Funds for this project.
Budget Impact
If the resolution is not passed, this project as designed will not be eligible for State
Aid Funds.
Relationship to Vision
This supports Goal F, "Housekeeping".

RESOLUTION NO. 7622
A RESOLUTION RESTRICTING PARKING
ON COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY (CSAH) 16
FROM CSAR 83 TO CSAH 18 (SAP 070-616-032)
WHEREAS, the existing conditions of CSAH 16 from CSAH 83 to CSAH 18 in the City
of Shakopee lack the adequate width for parking on both sides of the road; and
WHEREAS, the County of Scott has planned the improvement of County State Aid
Highway(CSAH) 16 from CSAH 83 to east of CSAH 21 in the City of Shakopee; and
WHEREAS, the County of Scott will be expending County State Aid Funds on the
improvement of the highway; and
WHEREAS, since existing conditions and this improvement do not necessitate parking
on the street and in fact would pose a safety concern, approval of the proposed construction as
County State Aid Projects must therefore be conditioned upon certain parking restrictions; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA:
That the City of Shakopee shall prohibit the parking of motor vehicles on both sides of
CSAH 16 from CSAH 83 to CSAH 18 at all times.
