B. 1. ■SHAKOI'E F TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: Jeff Tate, Police Chief DATE: 11/17/2015 SUBJECT: Master Subscriber Agreement Resolution - Res. No. 7641 (A) Action Sought Council is asked to adopt Resolution Number 7641, authorizing the police department to enter into a Master Subscriber Agreement with the State of Minnesota. Background The office of the State Court Administration offers court data services to Minnesota government subscribers, including the Shakopee Police Department. The Shakopee Police Department desires to use the court data services. This access allows government agencies to view appropriate electronic court records and documents stored in the Minnesota Court Information System for cases in Minnesota district courts. The access requires the City to adopt a Resolution entering into a Master Subscriber Agreement. The agreements are typically signed by the Chief of Police. Recommendation Staff recommends Resolution 7641. Budget Impact There is no budget impact. Relationship to Vision This Action Supports: Goal A. Keep Shakopee a safe and healthy community where residents can pursue active and quality lifestyles. Requested Action If council concurs, they should, by motion, adopt Resolution Number 7641, a Resolution authorizing the police department to enter into a Master Subscriber Agreement with the State of Minnesota. Attachments: Resolution 7641 RESOLUTION NO. 7641 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA, AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DPEARTMENT TO ENTER INTO A MASTER SUBSCRIBER AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF MINNESOTA WHEREAS, the new Minnesota Government Access Accounts, allowing government agencies to view appropriate electronic court records and documents stored in the Minnesota Court Information System for cases in Minnesota district courts, require authorization from the governing body; and WHEREAS, the Shakopee Police Department requests authorization to enter into a Master Subscriber Agreement with the State of Minnesota; and WHEREAS, the agreement allows department access and defines responsibilities as a subscriber to the Minnesota Court Data Services; and NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA, that the City Council herby authorizes Chief Jeff Tate to execute and implement said agreement with the State of Minnesota.
