TO: Mayor and City Council
FROM: Lori Hensen, City Clerk
DATE: 10/06/2015
SUBJECT: Appointment of Election Judges - Res. No. 7616 (F)
Action Sought
The Council is asked to offer Resolution No. 7616, a resolution appointing Election
Judges and establishing wages for the November 3, 2015 Municipal Election, and
move its adoption.
Background
Minnesota State Statutes require that election judges be appointed by the governing
body 25 days prior to the election. The attached resolution appoints judges for the
November 3, 2015 Municipal Election.
The resolution also establishes the wages for election judges. Due to the
challenges of recruiting and maintaining well trained election judges, staff is
recommending a wage increase from $8.75 per hour for election judges and $9.75
per hour for head judges to $11.00 and $14.00 per hour, respectively. These
amounts can be accommodated within the adopted budget for the Clerk's division.
