SUBJECT: Resolutions of Appreciation for 25 and 30 -year Employees

Introduction
The City Council is asked to adopt the attached Resolutions of Appreciations for four employees who
have reached service milestones in the past 12 months.
Background
Every spring at the Employee Picnic, the City recognizes employees who have reached certain years
of service to the City over the past years. This year we are honoring those with service milestones
occurring between June 1, 2009 and May 31, 2010. Employees marking 5, 10, 15 and 20 years of
service are given certificates. Employees marking 25 and 30 years of service are traditionally
presented with Resolutions of Appreciation adopted by the Council, while those being recognized for
35 years of service are awarded a plaque.
This year we have numerous employees to recognize. (A complete list is attached.)
Council is being asked to adopt three Resolutions of Appreciation for employees marking 25 years of
service and one for an employee marking 30 years of service.

Relationship to Goals
The contributions of these long -term employees directly relates to Goal E: Deliver effective and
efficient public services by a staff of well- trained, caring and professional employees.
Requested Action
The Council is asked to offer Resolutions No. 7009, 7010 and 7011 recognizing Glenn Heyda, Eileen
Klimek and Gene Jeurissen for providing 25 -years of service and Resolution No. 7012 recognizing
Mike Hullander for 30 -years of service to the City of Shakopee, and move their adoption.

A RESOLUTION OF SPECIAL COMMENDATION TO
GLENN HEYDA
ON THE 25 ANNIVERSARY OF HIS EMPLOYMENT
WITH THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE
Be it remembered that on the 8th day of May, 1985, Glenn Heyda
entered City employment and from that date on he has faithfully served the
City of Shakopee, its citizens and residents over and beyond the call of duty
for all these many years.
Therefore, be it resolved by the Shakopee City Council that the City
hereby expresses its deep appreciation and gratitude and do hereby commend
Glenn Heyda, for his devotion to duty, his loyalty and his friendship.
Adopted in Adj. Regular Session of the City Council of the City of
Shakopee, Minnesota, held this 18th day of May, 2010.

ON THE 25 ANNIVERSARY OF HER EMPLOYMENT
WITH THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE
Be it remembered that on the 26th day of March, 1985, Eileen Klimek
entered City employment and from that date on she has faithfully served the
City of Shakopee, its citizens and residents over and beyond the call of duty
for all these many years.
Therefore, be it resolved by the Shakopee City Council that the City
hereby expresses its deep appreciation and gratitude and do hereby commend
Eileen Klimek, for her devotion to duty, her loyalty and her friendship.
