SHAKOPEE TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: Bruce Loney, Public Works Director DATE: 07/21/2015 SUBJECT: Presentation of 2016-2020 Capital Improvement Program (C,E) Action Sought To present the 2016-2020 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and receive Council input on the program. Background As part of the 2016 Budget process, a 5 year CIP is prepared by staff. Project includes sanitary sewer, storm drainage, street & highway and trails/sidewalks. Attached are the project sheets for Council information and discussion. Staff will make a brief presentation of the projects. Also attached is the 5 year projection of revenues and expenditures on the Capital Improvement Fund (CIF). Recommendation Staff recommends receiving the 2016-2020 CIP and for Council to provide input. Budget Impact The 5 year CIP affects the CIF, Sanitary Sewer fund, Storm Drainage fund, and potentially the debt service levy. Relationship to Vision This supports Goals C and E: Maintain the City's strong financial health; and Deliver effective and efficient public services by a staff of well-trained, caring and professional employees. Requested Action To present the 2016-2020 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and receive Council input on the program.
