Action Sought
Offer Resolution No. 7587, A Resolution Apportioning Assessments Among New
Parcels Created as a Result of the Platting of Valley Park Business Center Third
Addition, and move its adoption.
Background
Prior to the platting of Valley Park Business Center Third Addition, there were
existing special assessments against Outlot A, Valley Park Business Center Second .
Addition for the construction of the Valley Park Business Center Project No.
2013-6. Valley Park Business Center Third Addition has created two new parcels so
it is necessary to apportion these assessments against each of the new lots.
Resolution No. 7587 apportions the existing special assessments against the newly
created lots within the plat of Valley Park Business Center Third Addition.
Attached is the letter from the developer requesting this action.
Recommendation
Staff recommends to apportion the existing assessments to the newly created
parcels.
Budget Impact
None.
Relationship to Vision
This supports Goal E: Deliver effective and efficient public services by a staff of
well-trained, caring, and professional employees.
Requested Action

Dear Bruce,
Pursuant to our previous correspondence, please treat this letter as our formal request to have the
levied special assessment allocated based on proportionate area in accordance with the our final plat
application that was submitted and approved by the City Council on May 19, 2015 and more specifically
defined in approved Resolution No. 7576.
The special assessments previously attributable to Outlot A,Valley Park Business Center Second
Addition will be allocated based on the proportionate areas of Lot 1, Block 1,Valley Park Business Center
Third Addition and Outlot A,Valley Park Business Center Third Addition.

RESOLUTION NO. 7587
A Resolution Apportioning Assessments Among New Parcels Created as a Result
of the Platting of Valley Park Business Center Third Addition
WHEREAS, on November 5,2014,Resolution No. 7507 adopted by the City Council levied
assessments against properties benefited by the Valley Park Business Center Improvements, Project
No. 2013-6; and,
WHEREAS, Outlot A of Valley Park Business Center 2°a Addition, benefited by the said
improvements and known as parcel number 27-430002-0, has been subdivided into Valley Park
Business Center Third Addition; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to apportion the installments remaining
unpaid against this parcel, because of the platting of Valley Park Business Center Third Addition;
and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA that the payable remaining balance of assessments (to parcel 27-
430002-0 Valley Park Business Center Improvements) are hereby apportioned as outlined in Exhibit
"A"attached hereto and made a part hereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all other parts of Resolution Number 7507 shall
continue in effect.
Adopted in session of the City Council of the City of Shakopee, Minnesota,
held this day of ,2015.
