No. 7577 (E) Action Sought Offer Resolution No. 7577, A Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Ordering Advertisement for Bids for the Sanitary Sewer Lateral Pipe Rehabilitation Project, Project No. 2015-4, and move its adoption. Background On December 16, 2014, Council approved an Extension Agreement with SEH, Inc. for Sanitary Sewer Lateral Pipe Rehabilitation Project No. 2015-4. By rehabilitating the sewer services, the reconstruction of the street pavement is not necessary which is a major cost savings. Previously, the sewer main has been lined and lining the services within the right of way will extend the life of the sewer system. On March 24, 2015, an informational meeting was held for affected residents and those interested in attending. SEH Inc. has completed the plans for the Sanitary Sewer Lateral Pipe Rehabilitation Project No. 2015-4, with staff review and would request that City Council approve the plans and authorize advertisement for bids. The intent is to have the bids be considered at the August 18, 2015 Council meeting for the work to be done yet this summer. Due to bidding requirements, the City must advertise the project for 21 days. Recommendation Offer Resolution No. 7577, A Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Ordering Advertisement for Bids for the Sanitary Sewer Lateral Pipe Rehabilitation Project, Project No. 2015-4, and move its adoption. Budget Impact If the project is approved, it will be funded by the Sanitary Sewer Fund. Attachments: RES NO 7577 Location Map RESOLUTION NO. 7577 A Resolution Approving Plans And Specifications And Ordering Advertisement For Bids For The Sanitary Sewer Lateral Pipe Rehabilitation Project No. 2015-4 WHEREAS, pursuant to an extension agreement-adopted by City Council on December 16, 2014, Bruce Loney, Public Works Director has prepared plans and specifications for improvements for the Sanitary Sewer Lateral Pipe Rehabilitation Project, which includes 10th Avenue, 11th Avenue and 12 Avenue from Quincy Street to Monroe Street by installation of sanitary sewer pipe lining, and any appurtenant work and has presented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA: 1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is on file and of record in the Office of the City Engineer, are hereby approved. 2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and on questcdn.com an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications.
