Subject: Surplus Property- Gymnastics and Fitness Equipment
INTRODUCTION
The Shakopee Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources Department is seeking
council approval to declare unused gymnastic and fitness equipment as surplus
property.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
The Shakopee Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources Department is currently
storing unused gymnastics and fitness equipment in the basement of the youth
building as well as in the upper part of the engineering building. The equipment
stored has not been in use for a number of years. A list of the equipment that can
now be disposed of is as follows:
Pool Slide Mats
Nordic Trek Fitness Equipment
Foam and Carpet for Gymnastic Floor
Two High Balance Beams
Gymnastics Vault
Vault Runway Carpet
Large Gymnastics Mats
Much of the gymnastics and fitness equipment can be sold to other entities. The
funds from the sale of the equipment will be deposited into the General Fund.
The equipment that is not sold will be disposed of. We are seeking council
approval to dispose of the equipment by sale through eBay and/or Craigslist.
