SUBJECT: Completion of Probationary Period - Police Officer Frank Coburn
DATE: December 28, 2009
Introduction
The City Council is asked to recognize Officer Frank Coburn's successful completion of
his initial one-year probationary period and grant him full-time, regular status as a Police
Officer.
Background
Frank Coburn joined the Police Department on January 5,2009. He has now completed
the required one-year probationary period for newly hired officers and Chief Tate is
pleased with his job performance to date.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the Council recognize Officer Coburn's successful completion of
the one-year probationary period and grant him full-time, regular status as a Police
Officer.
Relationship to Vision
Hiring, training and retaining qualified individuals to serve as police officers for the City
of Shakopee contributes to Goal B - a high quality oflife for residents.
Requested Action
If it concurs, the Council should offer a motion to grant Frank Coburn full-time, regular
status as a Police Officer for the City of Shakopee.
