Comment:
Introduction:
The purpose ofthis memorandum is to acknowledge smaller donations that have recently
been received by the City.
Background:
Resolution No. 5794, approved November 6, 2002, states that periodically, the City
Administrator shall prepare and bring to the City Council for adoption, a resolution
acknowledging the receipt and the acceptance of non-cash donations valued at less than
$500, and cash donations valued as less than $1000 that have been received by city staff.
Recently, the City has received the following donations:
1. October, 2009--$500.00 received from Leder Brothers Company, metal recyclers
from Minneapolis, in appreciation of assistance rendered by the police
department. They requested that the donation be used for "the betterment of the
police department, such as supplies, training or equipment items". They have
been notified that training equipment was purchased for the investigations unit.
2. November, 2009--$300 payment in lieu oftaxes for City services to property at
1269 Applewood Way. We understand this to be a religious organization.
3. November, 2009--$155.41 was received from the Scott County Snowmobile Club
for the purchase of gravel to improve the snowmobile trail in Memorial Park.
In order to comply with City policy, a resolution (attached) should be adopted.
