SUBJECT: Appointment to the Environmental Advisory Committee

INTRODUCTION
The Council is asked to appoint Jim Connell to the Environmental Advisory Committee.
BACKGROUND
The Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) is composed of five members and
currently has a vacancy for the unexpired term of Kate Sedlacek.
Councilors Matt Lehman and Terry Joos interviewed Mr. Connell and one other
candidate for an opening on the EAC on March 31 st. Mr. Connell was not appointed at
that time. Staff contacted Mr. Connell to see ifhe is still interested in serving on the
EAC. He is interested in serving. Councilors Lehman and Joos recommend Mr.
Connell's appointment.

This is a housekeeping item.
ACTION REQUIRED
If Council concurs, it should, by motion, offer Resolution No. 6911, A Resolution
Appointing Jim Connell to the Environmental Advisory Committee, and move its
adoption.

A RESOLUTION APPOINTING JIM CONNELL TO THE
ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE,
MINNESOTA, that the following appointment hereby be made:
Jim Connell is appointed to the Environmental Advisory Committee to fill the
unexpired term of Kate Sedlacek, which will expire February 28,2011.
Adopted in regular session of the City Council of the City of Shakopee,
Minnesota, held this 7th day of July, 2009.
