Employee Position Probationary Ends / s. e. ) CITY OF SHAKOPEE . ~ Memorandum CONSENT TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: Mark McNeill, City Administrator SUBJECT: Employee Position Probationary Ends DATE: January 2, 2003 INTRODUCTION: The Council is asked to affirm the end of initial probationary periods for five employees, and grant them full time regular status. BACKGROUND: On January 1,2001, a new pay plan was implemented for non-union City employees. As part ofthat, five employee positions were reclassified. To be consistent with past practice, new hires or promotions are required to serve a 12-month probationary period in the new status. All five employees have satisfactorily completed their 12-month probationary period. As such, they should be granted full time regular status. The five positions, and the incumbent employees are: Deputy City Clerk - Jeanette Shaner Records Clerk - Lori Hensen Senior Accounting Clerk - Eileen Klimek Assistant to the City Administrator - Tracy Schaefer Park and Recreation Secretary - Judy Techam BUDGET IMPACT: There is no impact on the budget as a result ofthis action. RECOMMENDATION: I recommend that the probationary period be ended as of December 31, 2002, and that the above named individuals be granted full time regular status. ACTION REQUIRED: Ifthe Council concurs, it should, by motion, affirm the satisfactory completion of the initial probationary periods for the individuals described above, and grant full time regular employee status to those individuals, effective January 1, 2003.
