Election of EDA Officers for 2003 3, CITY OF SHAKOPEE Memorandum TO: Economic Development Authority FROM: Paul Snook, Economic Development coordinato~ SUBJECT: Election of ED A Officers for 2003 MEETING DATE: January 7,2003 Introduction: The EDA is asked to elect officers for 2003. Background: As January ih will be the annual meeting for 2003, a slate of officers should be elected for the Economic Development Authority. Appointments by election may be done by motion. By-Laws of the Economic Development Authority require that the terms of office for President, Vice President, and Treasurer expire on the date of the annual meeting of the EDA of the subsequent year. The offices of the Secretary and Assistant Treasurer do not expire unless the Board takes specific action. Judy Cox serves as the Secretary, while Gregg V oxland serves as Assistant Treasurer. Therefore, the President, Vice President and Treasurer positions should be elected at the January ih meeting. For 2002, Bob Sweeney, Matt Lehman, and Terry Joos held those positions, respectively. Mayor Mars has asked that Matt Lehman serve as President of the EDA for 2003, and makes that recommendation to the Board. Nominations for Vice President and Treasurer should be made at the meeting. Action Required: The EDA should, by motion, elect officers for the positions of President, Vice President, and Treasurer ofthe Shakopee Economic Development Authority for 2003. officers2003.doc
