S,ft,
CITY OF SHAKOPEE
Memorandum
TO: Mayor and City Council
Mark McNeill, City Administrator
FROM: Judith s. Cox, City Clerk
SUBJECT: Application for Liquor License Renewals
Heyde Hospitality, Inc. dba Park Inn & Suites
DATE: June 30, 2003
INTRODUCTION:
City Council is asked to consider approving the on sale and Sunday
on sale intoxicating liquor licenses for Heyde Hospitality, Inc.
BACKGROUND:
On June 17, 2003, City Council approved on sale and Sunday on sale
intoxicating liquor licenses for Muelken Hospitality Industries
LLC, 1244 Canterbury Road conditioned upon a successful background
investigation and compliance with requirements of the city code.
It was the intent that Mr. Heyde was going to sell the restaurant
and liquor business to Mr. Muelken the first of July. The sale
has been delayed and if it is unable to take place before the 4ili
of July, Mr. Heyde desires to have his licenses renewed. Only one
on sale and one Sunday on sale license will actually be issued,
however, depending on when the sale of the business occurs.
Council is asked to approve the license for Mr. Heyde so that
staff can administratively issue the license once the appropriate
licensee is determined.
Before a license would be delivered to Heyde Hospitality Inc. ,
outstanding conditions of a license would have to be in
compliance: i. e. : payment of delinquent taxes, if any, receipt
of evidence of liquor liability, and payment of license fees.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the applications and grant on sale and Sunday on sale
intoxicating liquor licenses to Heyde Hospitality, Inc. dba Park
Inn & Suites, 1244 Canterbury Road, conditioned upon compliance
with city code requirements.
